Mrs. Vicki is a native Taiwanese educator. She came to Chicago in 1997 and received her master degree in music performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Her professional career has focused on the elementary school choral and piano instruction. Her post-graduate study includes Orff-Schulwerk and Emile Jacques-Dalcroze Certification at the DePaul University; World Music Drumming from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Guitar Teacher Training at Vander Cook College; and Music Together Teacher Training.
She believes that music is universal language that allows students to express, to create, to communicate, and to connect. By experiencing the music and dance through diverse culture and genres, students will not only gain deeper understanding and appreciation of the multicultural arts, but also enrich their lives, open their mind to view the world in new perspectives. This experience will help them later to be able to use their voice to make connections, embrace different points of view, and make difference in the world.
